Md. Jafar Sadeque Chowdhury

Md. Jafar Sadeque Chowdhury is the Additional Managing Director and Chief Distribution Officer of MetLife Bangladesh. Jafar leads all distribution channels in Bangladesh including agency, bancassurance and corporate business.

Jafar joined MetLife in August 1996 as a Sales Manager. After that, he was promoted to Deputy Agency Director in Bangladesh in January 2002. In April 2005, he moved to Pakistan as Agency Director Pakistan and served 2 years in Pakistan operations with a remarkable growth record. Rewarding his remarkable achievements, MetLife Bangladesh appointed him as Agency Director Bangladesh in April 2007. As a successor for his hard work and dedication towards building a winning team, management promoted him to Head of the Agency, South Asia (Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan) in April 2013.

Prior to joining MetLife, he has a long service experience in national and international markets with Naf Corporation and Unidev Limited – to name a few.

Jafar became a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) in 2001. Academically, Jafar completed his Master of Social Science in 1990 from Jahangirnagar University where he also completed a Bachelor of Social Science in 1988.
