Ala Uddin serves as the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MetLife Bangladesh, a position he has held since joining the company in 2017.

With more than 24 years of leadership experience in finance, accounting, governance, and business management, Ala has built a distinguished career across a range of multinational organizations and industries. Prior to joining MetLife, he served as Vice President and Head of Corporate Finance at Robi Axiata Limited, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s financial strategy and performance. Earlier, he was the Director of Finance & Administration and Company Secretary at Novartis Bangladesh Limited. He also held progressively senior finance leadership positions at leading multinational corporations, including Grameenphone and British American Tobacco Bangladesh.

Ala is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and holds Bachelor and Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Dhaka.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Ala is actively involved in advancing the accounting profession in Bangladesh. He currently serves as a council member and Vice President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), contributing to the profession’s development through leadership, governance, and strategic initiatives.
