Account Deletion and Data Retention Notice

When you request deletion of your ONE by MetLife account, MetLife will take reasonable steps to deactivate your account and delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of personal information associated with your use of the ONE by MetLife application, subject to applicable legal, regulatory, audit, security, operational, and record retention requirements. Upon successful processing of a verified account deletion request, health and wellness information collected through the ONE by MetLife application, including information generated through health and wellness features, will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable laws, contractual obligations, and internal retention requirements. Authorized service providers and vendors processing such information on behalf of MetLife will also be required to delete or anonymize applicable data in accordance with their contractual obligations and applicable legal requirements.

Please note that deleting your ONE by MetLife account may result in the loss of access to the application and the permanent removal of your health and wellness information, activity history, preferences, settings, and other account-related data. Once deleted, certain information may not be recoverable.

In certain circumstances, MetLife may be required or permitted to retain specific information after account deletion to comply with applicable laws and regulations, respond to legal processes, satisfy audit, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, risk management, or insurance-related obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or protect the rights, property, and safety of MetLife, its customers, or others. In addition, if you have submitted a lead, requested information about MetLife products or services, expressed an interest in purchasing an insurance policy, submitted an application, initiated a customer relationship, or otherwise interacted with MetLife for marketing, sales, servicing, compliance, or regulatory purposes, certain information may continue to be retained in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, business, and record retention requirements.

All account deletion requests are subject to verification of the identity of the requester and ownership of the account. Following successful verification, MetLife will process the request within the timeframe communicated to the user. Currently, account deletion requests submitted through this process may take up to two months after successful verification to be completed.

MetLife is committed to processing, retaining, and deleting personal information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2026 of Bangladesh. Where there is any conflict between applicable legal, regulatory, or MetLife data protection requirements, the requirement providing the higher level of protection to personal data will prevail.
